  1. This is Crane Beach, on the north coast of Massachusetts, and its about 10 minutes away from my house. I have grown up with summers filled with going to the beach, and Crane Beach is also where I learned to swim. Crane Beach has been a huge part of my childhood, and I have always secretly loved going there.

  2. The building in the picture is Marblehead School of Music, where I take guitar lessons twice a week. I’ve been going there since third grade, sometimes my mom driving me, sometimes walking there from my house down the street. The picture is from this angle because each of the four parking signs says “Reserved For” and then the name of one of the Beatles, and at the bottom, it says “And all students of Marblehead School of Music, and the Beatles are what inspired me to start playing guitar.

  3. The coast is a big part of Massachusetts’s culture and a big part of my life. I took this picture of the rocky coast while walking my dogs. I go to the beach a lot to walk my dogs and I see different things everyday but the rocks, the ocean, and the weather (usually) don’t change.

  7. I feel at home when I am at the beach. I love the feeling of relaxation over me, like the water tickling my toes. I love the sound of the waves lapping on the shore. I love the smell of the salinity in the air. Most of all I love the view, especially at sunset. The way the light hits the water is just amazing. The beach is a big part of my life. It is a place where I can relax and enjoy my self and the others around me.

  8. The ocean is a big part of. Most of Massachusetts is by the ocean. In the backround you can see other houses like mine that are on the ocean. Massachusetts has a huge fishing industry and the ocean has a big factor in that. Our world famous cod is freshly caught from the coast of Cape Cod.

  9. This is a photo of West Beach, a beach I live just a two-minute walk from. It is very important to me and plays a significant role in my life. During the summer my family and I spend a lot of our time therein and on the water. For instance, we sail, swim, tube and water ski. I value being near the beach because I love to feel the openness of the water and look at the beautiful scenery. When I am inland I feel claustrophobic because I can’t see the wide open ocean that feels full of opportunities.

Then I get to spend time skating on it with my whole family. So it lets our family spend time with each other. It also gives me a sense of community when all my friends and their Dads come over and we skate on the ice.

    • HI Benjamin… wish I could see a picture of your hockey rink… my son loves to play hockey… here is a picture of he and his teammates playing some pond hockey in Canada. Wish we could build a backyard rink in TN.

This is a picture that I took a few years ago on Block Island. I have been going there ever since I was as baby, and it has always held a place in my heart. This specific picture is of a view I’m lucky enough to experience every time I go. This view just puts me in awe. I just look out onto the horizon and see the beautiful colors and smell the beautiful air. It is odd to say something so random as a sunset could have affected your life, but it did for me. I now know that beauty is everywhere even if it is just looking out into the sky.
